Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Fixed Maintenance Technician for our Cortez underground operations. You will be part of a team focused on safe, reliable maintenance of fixed mining equipment and will contribute to a sustainable host communities effort.

This role reports to the Underground Fixed Maintenance Supervisor and supports both surface and underground systems. Ideal candidates will have underground mining maintenance experience, strong pump and hydraulics knowledge, and the

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of crushing and pump systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps.
• Fabrication skills including welding, brazing and cutting.
• Identify repair parts by make, model, size and type.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics for troubleshooting.
• Read and use precision measuring tools and torque wrenches.
• Excellent safety and attendance record.
• Able to perform essential functions of the job.
• Rotating nights and days schedule is required.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Underground Fixed Maintenance Supervisor, the Underground Fixed Maintenance Technician is responsible for the following:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of both surface and underground fixed mining equipment such as Crushing Systems, CRF mixing systems, pumps etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Crushing and Pump systems required
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete repair on all pumps required
• Basic fabrication skills including welding and cutting, brazing, arc welding, and air arc required
• Ability to identify parts needed for repairs by make, model, size, and type preferred
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and the ability to apply those skills to troubleshoot and repair systems preferred
• Ability to read and use precision measuring tools, torque wrenches, and hand tools preferred
• Excellent safety and attendance record required
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job required
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
