Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Light Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join the Cortez team. This role participates in maintaining shop areas and service vehicles, performing daily inspections, and upholding safety standards in a fast-paced mining environment.

You will work a rotating schedule of nights and days and collaborate with a dynamic team to meet safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience maintaining mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics required.
• Ability to work safely with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to perform strenuous physical labor in all weather conditions.
• Lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proven safe work record and commitment to safety.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards.

• Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required
• Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required
