Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction seeks an Employment Specialist (HR Technician I) at the Eastern Carolina Regional Employment Office in Greenville, NC. This full-time role (40 hours) includes state benefits with a typical Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm schedule and potential overnight travel.

Responsibilities include recruitment and pre-employment screening for certified positions in prisons and community supervision, accurate ATS data entry, and generating reports across multiple HR systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in HR or related field; no years of experience required.
• High school or GED plus 2 years progressive HR experience.

Responsibilities

• Performing background reviews and screening of Correctional Officer applicants.
• Entering applicant data into the ATS accurately.
• Maintaining candidate rosters for interviews and contact opportunities.
• Generating reports in the HR-Payroll System to verify prior service with State Government.
• Maintaining files and databases for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Using ATS, EMS, OSC Integrated HR Payroll System, DCIN, Workday, Indicum, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office and other applications.
• Maintaining certification as a DCI operator; completing DCI certification/recertification as needed.
