Job summary

Maine State Prison is seeking an administrator to plan, coordinate, and direct the purchase, storage, and issue of stores and materials. The role includes budgeting, cost controls, and implementation of inventory procedures at the Warren facility.

You will supervise staff and resident workers, monitor budgets, and ensure safety and security across operations. Prior experience in procurement, corrections, and ACA standards is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of budgeting and administrative procedures and practices.
• Knowledge of state purchasing procedures.
• Knowledge of prison security regulations and operating procedures.
• Knowledge of American Correctional Association standards.
• Ability to assist in compiling documentation, audits, and action plans for support services American Correctional Association accreditation folders.

Responsibilities

• Oversees requisition, receipt, storage, and issue of stores and materials to ensure availability and control costs.
• Directs and evaluates activities of staff and resident workers to meet unit goals and prevent theft.
• Assists in developing and monitoring budgets and spending to maximize cost effectiveness.
• Observe resident behavior to maintain staff and inmate safety and prevent escape.
• Develop specifications for equipment and materials to obtain required items for prison operation.
