Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking a Stores/Warehouse Assistant to oversee storekeeping operations in a major area and assist the Supply Manager with warehouse duties at a correctional facility.

Responsibilities include receiving and inspecting items, processing receipts for payment, ordering inventory, maintaining records, operating forklifts, and supervising staff. A high school diploma is required; credit hours may substitute. Competitive state benefits apply.

Qualifications

• One or more years as Stores/Warehouse Assistant in the Missouri UCP System
• High school diploma or GED
• Three+ years inventory experience with records
• Earned college credit hours may substitute for experience at 30 credit hours per year

Responsibilities

• Oversees a major storekeeping area and assists a Supply Manager in warehouse operations
• Receives and inspects incoming items; certifies receipts for payment; labels and stores items
• Orders inventory to replenish stock; develops methods for efficiency; sets reorder points
• Monitors environmental factors in storage; transfers and sells surplus; prepares items for delivery
• Operates cash register and maintains inventory records; conducts physical inventories
• Operates forklifts/pallet jacks and keeps storage areas clean
• Leads staff and offenders/residents in loading/unloading and distributing inventory per policies
