Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking an assistant/relief shift supervisor to support operations in an adult facility or related Center. You will supervise officers, direct major activities, and perform rounds to ensure staff readiness and safety.

The department offers comprehensive benefits and requires three+ years custody experience with a high school diploma; military service may substitute for part of the custody requirement.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of custody experience with adult offenders in a correctional setting.
• One year must have been as a Correctional Sergeant or Senior Probation and Parole Assistant with the Missouri Department of Corrections.
• Military service may substitute for up to one year of custody experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist/relieve shift supervisor in an adult facility or related unit as described.
• Supervise and instruct lower-level officers; monitor performance and resolve issues.
• Direct major activities such as control center operation or reception/orientation.
• Patrol living quarters and posts to ensure staff readiness and discipline.
• Investigate disturbances and maintain order; participate in staff training as needed.
