The GEO Group is seeking a Security Supervisor in Texas to oversee detainee supervision and security operations within a correctional facility. You will lead staff, ensure safe, compliant performance, and coordinate daily activity with management to meet facility goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• College coursework in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience working in a correctional setting.
• One (1) year of management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be mature, flexible, intellectually alert, able to command respect and handle mental stress.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and regulations for custody, security and/or treatment of detainees.
• Responds to major unusual occurrences. Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to detainees in case of injury, illness or emotional trauma.
• Promotes an atmosphere conducive to personality and character development of detainees and staff through encouragement of favorable behavior patterns, and appropriate facility arrangements.
• Directs the work of other employees, including hiring, evaluating performance, training and disciplinary actions.
• Makes assignments, reviews post orders and ensures procedures, including emergency procedures, are trained in proper implementation.
• Reviews disciplinary matters concerning both staff and detainees.
• Reviews staff effectiveness and conducts inspections to ensure policy compliance.
• Gives primary guidance on situational problems and makes referrals for complex issues.
• Prepares records and reports; maintains daily logs as required.
• Ensures attainment of facility goals and compliance with rules and procedures for security operations.
• Directs work, provides training and inspects detainee staff; may supervise detainee security in other areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
