State of South Carolina is seeking a Security Supervisor for a medium security facility. The role involves supervising security staff, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and enforcing procedures to maintain safety and order.

You will train staff, manage counts, and keep current with directives while coordinating with leadership and maintaining strict control over keys and equipment. Eight weeks of SCDC Basic Training is required upon hire.

Competenze

• High school diploma and relevant experience.
• Three years of experience in correctional, security, military, or police work to include one year of supervisory experience.
• Certification by the SCDC Training Academy and successful completion of the basic supervisory course within six months of entry.
• Must successfully complete eight weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Mansioni

• Supervises security staff at a medium security facility.
• Performs sanitation, safety and security inspections of buildings, contents, grounds and vehicles.
• Investigates complaints and violations; arbitrates disputes among inmate population and correctional staff.
• Supervises and verifies the accuracy of scheduled formal counts and conducts informal counts when required.
• Trains subordinate security staff and ensures they perform all assigned duties.
• Keeps abreast of current administrative directives pertaining to medium security institutions.
• Maintains control of all security keys, devices, and equipment, vehicle keys, and building keys.
• Conducts security inspections and shakedowns for contraband control.
• Prepares and submits written operational and administrative reports.
• Assists Captain with duty roster, post assignments, leave approvals, and employee timekeeping in Kronos.
