GEO Group in Louisiana is seeking a Supervisory role to oversee detainee supervision and facility safety, supervising staff and ensuring records and reports are prepared accurately.

This position involves developing policies, responding to incidents, promoting constructive behavior, and training staff while coordinating post orders and inspections to ensure compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience working in a correctional setting, one of which was in a supervisory role.
• Must be mature, flexible, intellectually alert, able to command respect and handle mental stress.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and implementing policies, procedures and regulations for custody, security and/or treatment of detainees.
• Responds to major unusual occurrences and facilitates prompt assistance to detainees in injury, illness or emotional trauma.
• Promotes an atmosphere conducive to positive behavior among detainees and staff.
• Directs the work of other employees, including hiring, evaluating, training, promotions, and possible disciplinary actions.
• Makes assignments, reviews post orders and ensures procedures including emergency protocols are trained and in place.
• Reviews disciplinary matters concerning staff and detainees and conducts inspections to ensure policy compliance.
