Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a Security Operations Supervisor to manage daily security operations and ensure compliance with all regulations. You will oversee staff performance, provide training, and participate in policy development to maintain safe environments for inmates and staff.

The role requires experience in a correctional setting, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate emergency responses and long-range security plans.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressive work experience in a correctional environment.
• Two (2) years of management experience in supervision of inmates and staff.
• Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of others.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to draft memos/reports clearly.
• Working knowledge of program objectives, policies, and correctional laws.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily functioning of all security unit operations.
• Ensures compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures for efficient security operations.
• Supervises staff; involved in hiring, training, and evaluation.
• Provides on-the-job security and safety training to personnel.
• Develops security operation policies and seeks approvals.
• Plans and responds to emergencies; directs searches for escaped offenders.
• Contributes to riot control plans and training of staff.
