The GEO Group, Inc. is hiring for a Full-time Correctional Officer to oversee security operations and detainee supervision.

You will coordinate shift activities, conduct inspections, and support incident response to ensure safety and order within the facility. Requirements include a high school diploma, correctional training, and one year of relevant experience, with the ability to handle stress and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a Correctional Officer and meet related requirements.
• 1 year of experience in a correctional setting.
• Ability to handle mental stress and complex written instructions.
• Must write communications, documents, and policies clearly.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all security functions during shift as assigned by management.
• Oversees inmate/detainee feeding during meal times.
• Inspects security equipment, doors, gates, fences, and lighting.
• Assists with unit counts and reviews shift reports.
• Ensures officers receive on-the-job and safety training.
• Inspects perimeter to test alarms and safety compliance.
• Assists staff with unruly inmates and investigations.
• Responds to major incidents and provides care as needed.
• Directs inmate/detainee workers and ensures safety training.
• Contributes to performance reviews and disciplinary decisions.
• Supports a positive environment promoting respectful behavior.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
