Allied Universal is seeking a Corrections Security Officer - Entry Screening in Columbia, SC on a part-time schedule. You will provide customer service, control access, and monitor a government location, with patrols and incident response as needed.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, 18+ years old for unarmed posts, and a high school diploma. Training and growth opportunities are offered within a national security leader.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide professional communication and customer service. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sun: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities within a correctional government location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entrances, perimeter areas, and other designated locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Monitor and control access to authorized areas by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing individuals in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
