The role requires 24/7 coverage, including day, evening, overnight, weekend and holiday shifts. Duties include security rounds, inmate management, and enforcing disciplinary actions while maintaining safety and security throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years of age at time of employment offer.
• Complete in-house 120-hour academy training program.
• Complete 240-hour corrections officer on-the-job training.
• OC spray certification and taser training completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform security rounds and document incidents, movements and discipline.
• Maintain a safe cell block environment and enforce housing rules.
• Determine appropriate disciplinary actions and enforce with inmates/detainees.
• Manage inmate/detainee movement and use restraints as trained.
• Classify inmates/detainees to housing units and security levels.
• Respond to inmate mental health concerns and intervene as needed.
• Read and process legal documents and communicate with the public and courts.
• Attend required trainings and shift briefings to maintain status.
