Job summary

The Door County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Jail Officer dedicated to maintaining safety, security, and order within the jail and related facilities. You will enforce laws, investigate incidents, and assist citizens while supporting facility security through inspections and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Certified jail officer or complete CTO training within 12 months of hire.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior corrections or public safety experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security checks of housing units and visitation areas.
• Monitor inmate activities and document findings.
• Perform inmate intake procedures including fingerprinting and housing assignments.
• Maintain detailed records and incident reports.
• Transport inmates between facilities following procedures.
