Job summary

Door County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Security Sergeant to oversee jail security staff and daily operations. The role supports the Jail Lieutenant in enforcing policies, regulations, and facility standards, making routine and emergency decisions, and guiding staff development.

Responsibilities include supervising floor operations, coordinating with external agencies, overseeing training and CTO program, and ensuring proper inmate processing, housing, and compliance with fire and safety

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age and valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Wisconsin jail officer certification, or certification within 12 months of hire.
• 3+ years of correctional experience with Door County Sheriff’s Office or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise floor duties and manage routine and emergency jail operations.
• Interpret procedures and ensure policy guidance materials are available.
• Conduct staff counseling and participate in performance evaluations and objective setting.
• Coordinate with Jail Lieutenant on planning and external agency liaison.
