Job summary

Outagamie County jail is hiring Full Time Correctional Officers to provide supervision of inmates and maintain a safe, secure environment. The role includes supervising inmate movement, monitoring living areas, conducting inspections, and ensuring security through reporting and compliance with department policies.

Responsibilities also include handling emergencies, performing bookings and releases according to policy, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Must meet Department standards of physical condition.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to pass physical agility test and psychological evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmates to maintain safety and security.
• Conduct inmate counts and document incidents in reports.
• Monitor inmate living areas and conduct searches as needed.
• Escort inmates to visits, programs, and meals; manage inmate movements.
• Respond to emergencies per department policies and procedures.
• Control access to and from the jail; verify visitor IDs.
