Job summary

Heart Of Florida Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the corrections health care team in Bushnell, FL. The RN will perform nursing assessments, administer medications, and provide patient education within a secure correctional setting.

The role requires an active Florida RN license, BLS certification, and the ability to work under the supervision of the DON. Spanish is a plus; security clearance must be obtainable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited RN program.
• Current Florida RN license.
• Current BLS Certificate from an accredited provider.
• Spanish fluency is desirable, but not essential.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
• Ability to use the nursing process, as evidenced by physical and psychosocial observation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care using the nursing process while adhering to infection control guidelines.
• Administer medications and IV therapy per provider orders and protocols.
• Perform health assessments across multiple systems (neurology, cardiovascular, etc.).
• Count controlled substances and sharps at shift start and document logs.
• Document nursing encounters in the patient record and communicate with clinicians.
