Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville is seeking a Department of Corrections Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within a secure environment. You will collaborate with the care team, follow nursing models, and advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.

The role requires an ADN or higher, current RN license in Florida, BLS certification, and at least 6 months RN experience, with weekend/holiday rotation and 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have ADN or higher
• Licensed RN in states of practice and/or active Compact license
• Current BLS certification (AHA/Red Cross)
• At least 6 months RN work experience
• Prior Acute Care/Hospital Med/Surg RN experience preferred
• Comfortable working around convicted prisoners (security present)

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and during every shift
• Administer medications and document care in medical records
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plan, meds, side effects and follow-up
