The role requires willingness to work day, evening, and night shifts, weekends and holidays, and a Texas RN license with BLS. Spanish proficiency is preferred; a federal background check is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACEN/CCNE-accredited nursing program.
• At least 1 year RN experience in hospital/clinical setting.
• Verbal Spanish proficiency preferred.

Job description

Amergisis searching for a qualified Registered Nurse for an ICE detention center. TheCorrectional RN works in collaboration with other healthcare professionals,correctional officers, and administrators to ensure the well-being of theincarcerated population. The Correctional RN utilizes their knowledge toaddress the specific challenges and limitations of the correctional environmentwhile providing care to their patient population. This care includes bothroutine and emergency health care in a correctional facility setting.

Shifts:

This position requiresavailability to work: day, evening and night shifts; availability duringweekends and holidays is also required. Only full-time positions areavailable currently.

RequiredEducation and Experience:

• Degreeissuing institution and or program must be accredited by an entity recognizedby the U.S. Department of Education,
• Graduatefrom an associate, baccalaureate, or graduate nursing program for RegisteredNurses located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territoryaccredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) orThe Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates offoreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, activeand unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from anapproved school of professional nursing.
• Minimumone year of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse in ahospital, medical office or residential setting.
• Verbaland written proficiency in Spanish (preferred, not required).
• Mustbe capable of passing a federal background check

Requiredlicense and certification:

• Current,full and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.Licenses from other states, including compact state licenses, will not beaccepted.
• MaintainsBLS for Healthcare Providers® certification through the American HeartAssociation®.
• CertifiedCorrectional Health Professional, Certified Correctional Health Professional–Registered Nurse, or Certified Corrections Nurse credential preferred, notrequired.
