Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Records Clerk to maintain, update and disposition inmate/resident records in a secure setting. The role focuses on assembling files, verifying compliance, and preparing records for transfers or archives in line with policy.

You will receive court correspondence, verify bonds, monitor dispositions, and coordinate with internal staff and courts as needed. Strong MS Word/Excel skills and a valid driver's license are preferred; high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Experience in records management in a correctional institution or office preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other PC applications preferred.
  • Minimum age requirement: at least 20 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble inmate/resident files from all repositories; review records for policy compliance; verify and correct as necessary; prepare records for transfers or archives.
  • Receive all court correspondence for inmates/residents; verify court bonds; monitor dispositions; initiate contact with internal staff, jurisdictions and courts.
  • Create and maintain up-to-date general and inmate/resident files; ensure confidentiality and security of records.
  • Maintain an up-to-date discharge list; process parole certificates, discharge letters, and release notifications.
