Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking an inmate records auditor to ensure accuracy in the automated system and to conduct audits for MAXOUT, MAXREL, and releases. You will review and enter supporting documents and coordinate with health, law enforcement, and judicial entities.

Requirements include a high school diploma with experience in records management or information systems; a bachelor’s degree may substitute.

Qualifications

A high school diploma and experience in records management, information systems, or office administration.
A bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.
May require certification by SLED on NCIC operation.

Responsibilities

Conducts manual audits of inmates scheduled for MAXOUT and related releases to ensure accuracy of information in the automated system.
Analyzes, interprets, and enters legal documents on all inmates within sixty days of scheduled projected MAXOUT.
Conducts audit of the MAXREL screen on inmates scheduled for MAXOUT.
Processes court ordered releases and remote releases.
Coordinates with health services for DNA testing prior to release where required.
Conducts record review audits and sentence time/credit verifications as needed and/or requested by criminal justice entities.
Coordinates with appropriate law enforcement agencies for pickup of inmates who are released.
Provides technical assistance to institutional staff, judges, attorneys, and other law enforcement agencies.
Conducts other duties as needed by supervisor.
