Job summary

Charleston County Sheriff's Office is seeking a meticulous Records Specialist II to manage inmate tracking data and ensure accurate information flows between courts, agencies, and corrections.

You will maintain confidentiality, coordinate with judicial partners, and keep JMS and RMS/NCIC systems up to date, with standard hours Monday through Friday and occasional weekend coverage as required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required and 18+ years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NCIC certification within 6 months of assignment.
• Military service honorably discharged (if applicable).
• No felony convictions; misdemeanors may require expungement.
• No THC or marijuana use within 365 days; other drugs disqualifying.
• No defaulting student loans.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• Nelson-Denny Reading Test and multi-phase background checks will be conducted.
• Ability to assist disaster response teams as needed.
• Valid SC Driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Manage sensitive inmate tracking data with precision.
• Facilitate essential communication with judicial partners.
• Ensure timely and accurate updates to JMS & RMS/NCIC.
• Uphold strict confidentiality protocols while supporting vital operations.
