Job summary

Michigan Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional to join a multi-disciplinary treatment team serving mentally ill prisoners. You will conduct mental health evaluations, refer to appropriate levels of care, monitor progress, and ensure continuity of care throughout confinement and discharge.

Position requires a master's degree in psychology, social work, or counseling.

Qualifications

• Possession of a master's degree with a major in psychology, social work, or counseling.
• Most positions are test-designated and subject to pre-appointment drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide QMHP services as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team for mentally ill/disabled prisoners.
• Perform mental health evaluations and referrals to appropriate levels of care.
• Assist with placement and services upon prisoner discharge to the community.
