Job summary

The Michigan Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional to join a multi-disciplinary treatment team working with mentally ill and/or mentally disabled prisoners. The role includes mental health evaluations, referrals, and ensuring continuity of care as inmates transition back to the community.

Qualifications include a master's degree in psychology, social work, or counseling and a Michigan license in good standing.

• Master's degree in psychology, social work, or counseling.
• Michigan license in good standing to practice the applicable Qualified Mental Health Profession.
• Experience providing QMHP services or equivalent in a corrections or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide QMHP services to mentally ill and/or mentally disabled prisoners within the MDOC.
• Perform mental health evaluations and referrals to appropriate levels of care.
• Monitor prisoner progress and ensure continuity of care; assist with discharge planning.
