Qualifications

• PA residency requirement is waived for this title.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
• You must pass a background investigation and CJIS compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Interact with inmates and visitors during custody and supervision.
• Monitor inmate movement in cellblocks and housing areas to maintain security.
• Conduct rounds, head counts, security checks, and report unusual situations.
• Work a 40-hour week with shifts, including weekends/holidays; overtime as needed.
• Participate in formal instruction in sociology, psychology, court procedures, and custodial responsibilities.
• Provide guidance to inmates adjusting to correctional processes and agency rules.
• Prepare detailed reports and respond to emergencies.
• Wear employer-provided uniforms and follow union provisions.
