Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections seeks a Correctional Officer at Warner Creek Correctional Facility in Lakeview, Oregon. You will join a team enforcing rules, ensuring safety, and supervising inmate activity during training that includes BCC and field components.

Relocation assistance may be available; no prior correctional experience required as training is provided, with a seven-week academy and on-the-job instruction.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Possess a high school diploma or GED
• Be 21 years of age or older
• United States citizen
• Meet DPSST Physical Standards
• Possess reading comprehension, report writing, and retention abilities
• Satisfactorily complete an ODOC background investigation OAR 259-008-0015

Responsibilities

• Work in a team setting to maintain order within the institution, enforcing rules and regulations while providing care to ensure safety and security.
• Help adults in custody be orderly and obey agency guidelines and standards while monitoring activities and supervising work assignments.
• Conduct cell checks and searches for contraband, settle disputes, and enforce discipline.
• Observe, inspect, and report on safety, sanitary, and fire hazards.
