Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services at Allen Correctional Center in Kinder, LA is seeking a Corrections Lieutenant to oversee staff, manage daily security operations, monitor inmate movement, and respond to emergencies. This role promotes professionalism and accountability within a 24-hour facility.

Promotion opportunity for current LA Department of Corrections employees with permanent status; compensation includes a Special Entrance Rate of $26.79/hour

Qualifications

Two years of experience in correctional, behavioral, or penal institutions with security responsibilities or in law enforcement plus one of the following.
Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
One year of experience in any field; OR
Six months of law enforcement experience as a POST certified peace officer.

Responsibilities

Provide direct oversight of inmate behavior and daily activities, enforcing facility rules and regulations.
Lead, mentor, and develop staff within assigned areas through guidance and training.
Ensure operational excellence by completing detailed reports and managing daily security functions.
