Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Lieutenant II (S) for Lumberton Correctional Institution. Under supervision of Correctional Captain II, you will supervise staff, conduct shift line-ups, assign posts, and inspect performance to ensure safety and discipline.

Must be eligible for certification by NC CJ Education & Training Standards; pass background, drug screen, medical and psychological evaluations; possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• Pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Successful completion of medical and psychological evaluations.
• Possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subordinate staff and conduct shift line-ups.
• Make shift assignments and inspect personnel for readiness and safety.
• Perform security inspections and monitor posts for discipline and alertness.
• Coordinate training needs and delivery to staff.
• Act as Officer-In-Charge in the absence of a Captain II.
