State of Illinois is seeking a Corrections Law Library Assistant at Logan Correctional Center. The role supports reference, instructional, and research services in the institution's law library and supervises law clerks.

Strong preference for law library experience and ability to organize facts and precedents. The position requires a four-year college degree with relevant coursework, and notary certification during probation.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of four years of college with coursework in legal, pre-legal, English, statistics or related fields.
• Notary Public certification must be obtained during probationary period and kept current.
• Ability to pass IDOC background check, drug screen, and related employment conditions.

Responsabilités

• Trains and supervises individuals in custody library law clerks in the use of legal library resources.
• Receives and reviews individuals in custody requests for library assistance.
• Explains court procedures and filing requirements (not substantive legal interpretations).
• Develops and maintains the institution law library.
• Performs other duties within the scope of the listed responsibilities.
