Job summary

Continental seeks a Cook - Corrections to join the Monroe County Jail kitchen team. Full-time role in Monroe, MI, reporting to Kattye Baker. Compensation $17.50 per hour.

You will supervise inmates, manage production records, ensure sanitation and security, and execute the daily menu with accuracy. Ideal candidates bring experience in food service within a correctional facility, strong attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with the Food Service Manager.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of food safety and sanitation laws, regulations, and rules.
• Must be comfortable working in a correctional facility and supervising inmates.
• Must be flexible, able to multi-task and maintain daily operation standards.

Responsibilities

• Review master menu cycle to ensure correct production records and recipes.
• Verify daily menu items prepared for the line and stocked appropriately.
• Label items with name, date and meal and maintain production records.
• Delegate duties to inmates and supervise them in performance of tasks.
• Monitor sanitation, safety, and security of inventory at all times.
• Enforce and follow sanitation standards and cleaning schedules.
