Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services seeks a Food Service Worker to supervise inmates in a kitchen, train staff, and ensure meals meet production plans with strict sanitation and safety standards. The role requires the ability to motivate inmates, maintain security, and adhere to HACCP-like procedures in a correctional setting.

Compensation starts at $15.50+ per hour with great benefits. Candidates must be comfortable in a correctional facility and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum 1 year food prep or related work preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience interacting with inmates is a plus.
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members in a correctional environment.
• Must obtain a food safety certification.
• Must follow safety procedures and policies.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain production guidelines and temperature logs.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
• Direct inmates in recipe use and train on cooking procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are met.
• Obtain daily population counts and review with staff.
• Maintain security by ensuring storage areas are locked and keys secured.
• Assist in inventory, receiving, and storing of food items.
