Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a Kitchen Manager to oversee the Miami County Jail kitchen in Peru, Indiana. This full-time role requires leadership to manage daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure meals are prepared safely and to company standards in a structured setting.

You will follow recipes, enforce portion control, monitor inventory, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen while supporting a positive team culture in a correctional environment. Weekend/holiday shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.
• Can work effectively in a secure, structured correctional environment.
• Can read and follow company recipes, policies, and procedures.
• Is able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
• Lead, train, and support kitchen staff.
• Assist with food preparation, baking, cooking, serving, and clean-up.
• Ensure company recipes, portion control, and food safety standards are followed.
• Maintain sanitation and organization throughout the kitchen.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and product control.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment while maintaining professionalism within a correctional facility.
