Job summary

The West Virginia Division of Corrections is seeking a Booking Clerk at the Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Center and the Ohio County Correctional Center. You will assist security staff with inmate intake and release, interpret court orders, and maintain the OIS system with updates to housing and inmate property.

Responsibilities include fingerprinting, photographing, and coordinating with local courts, prosecutors, and law enforcement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of full-time paid experience in routine office work or customer-facing roles.
• College hours, related business school, or vocational training may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist security staff with processing inmates for intake and release.
• Interpret court orders and route to appropriate department; explain rules and procedures.
• Maintain the OIS system with updates on court orders, property, and housing assignments.
• Fingerprinting and photographing inmates as part of intake; communicate with courts and law enforcement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
