Job summary

Canteen Corrections is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee kitchen operations in the Macomb County Jail. The role involves supervising inmates, maintaining sanitation, and ensuring meals are prepared on time according to safety standards.

The position is full-time, with a 5am - 1pm shift, and compensation is $18.00 per hour. Reporting to the Food Service Manager, you will coordinate menu cycles and production records to support reliable, quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred for supervision of meal service.
• Experience in a correctional facility or similar secure environment is advantageous.
• Ability to supervise inmates and maintain safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Review the master menu cycle and verify production records and recipes.
• Ensure daily menu items are prepped for the line and available on time.
• Monitor sanitation, safety, and inventory controls throughout the shift.
• Supervise inmates, delegate duties, and maintain workflow and security.
• Record temperatures and ensure meals meet nutritional standards and specs.
• Maintain production records and assist in training staff as needed.
