Job summary

Summit, a brand of Elior North America, is seeking a motivated Food Service Director to lead the corrections dining program at Isanti County Jail (MN). You will oversee a team of food service workers and manage all aspects of the department to ensure meals are served on time.

This role is non-exempt and paid hourly, requiring onsite leadership, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and collaboration with district management and clients to maintain satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication with hourly staff and executives.
• Ability to manage in a diverse, client-focused environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• ServSafe and/or HACCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensure staff meet culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budget for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring targets and forecasts.
• Confer with the district manager or other departments regarding dining service aspects.
