Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking a lead worker to oversee a state shop, kitchen, post office, laundry, or central receiving unit under general supervision. The role may direct other staff, prepare reports, train coworkers, and manage materials inventory.

Qualifications include high school diploma, four years of experience with at least one year in lead/supervisory role; college coursework can substitute; submit transcripts once; include detailed duties in the Work History or résumé.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Four years of full-time or equivalent part‑time paid experience in the area of assignment, one year of which must have been in a lead worker capacity.
• Substitution: Coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis for up to four years of experience.
• Please submit official transcripts or licenses once; do not submit high school diplomas or transcripts.
• Job duty descriptions of all experience must be included in the Work History or résumé.

Responsibilities

• Oversee activities of state shop, kitchen, post office, laundry, or central receiving under supervision.
• Direct the work of employees and/or inmate work crews as assigned.
• Prepare reports and train coworkers in proper methods.
• Oversee acquisition and inventory control of materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
