Job summary

State of West Virginia operates a correctional facility system and seeks a lead worker to supervise daily operations in the designated area, ensuring inmates and staff comply with DOC policies, ACA standards, and all applicable laws. The role requires coordinating activities to maintain safety, security, and efficiency of operations.

In addition to oversight, the position involves assisting with acquisition and inventory control of materials, supplies, and equipment, and performing related work

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the area of assignment, one year of which must have been in a lead worker capacity.
Coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the designated area (e.g., Central Receiving, Laundry, Post Office, Barbershop).
Ensure staff and inmates comply with DOC policies, ACA standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
Act as a lead worker and manage acquisition and inventory control of materials, supplies, and equipment.
