State of West Virginia is seeking a lead worker to oversee a state shop, kitchen, post office, laundry, or central receiving unit under general supervision. The role may direct other staff, prepare reports, train coworkers, and manage materials inventory.
Qualifications include high school diploma, four years of experience with at least one year in lead/supervisory role; college coursework can substitute; submit transcripts once; include detailed duties in the Work History or résumé.
Under general supervision, performs full performance duties as a lead worker overseeing the activities of state shop, kitchen, post office, laundry, or central receiving. This position may direct the work of employees and/or inmate work crews in the applicable areas of assignment, prepare reports, and train co-workers in proper work methods. May be responsible for the acquisition and inventory control of all materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for the assigned areas of operations. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Training: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Experience: Four years of full-time or equivalent part‑time paid experience in the area of assignment, one year of which must have been in a lead worker capacity.
Substitution: Coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis for up to four years of experience.

The supervisor's overall role is to communicate organizational needs, oversee employees' performance, provide guidance, support, identify development needs, and manage the reciprocal relationship between staff and the organization so that each is successful.
