The State of Colorado, Trinidad Correctional Facility, seeks a Corrections Support Trades Supervisor I to manage building and grounds maintenance and inmate crews. You will ensure safety of staff and inmates, train inmates in trades, and oversee repairs and projects within a highly regulated setting.

Responsibilities include enforcing security procedures, supervising work crews, coordinating with multiple trades, and maintaining documentation to support compliance and reentry preparation.

Formación

• Four (4) years of employment experience in building/equipment maintenance or a combination of building and grounds maintenance.
• Building/Equipment Maintenance - planning, estimating and performing hands-on trades such as carpentry, plumbing, welding, machinery/equipment repair and/or electrical.
• Grounds Maintenance - irrigation systems, lawn care, exterior work, snow removal.
• OR - four years with two years of correctional experience; include details in the Work Experience section.
• Correctional Experience must be security related and involve detaining, escorting inmates, and counts.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure safety and security of facility, staff, and inmates; supervise inmate work crews.
• Train inmates in use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures; enforce PPE requirements.
• Oversee building/grounds maintenance, repairs, and project completion.
• Read blueprints, prepare material and labor lists with cost estimates and manage projects.
• Supervise inmate crews and evaluate performance; manage scheduling and grievances.
• Respond to emergencies such as fights, fires, or medical events and document reports.
