Job summary

State of Colorado, Trinidad Correctional Facility, is seeking a motivated Correctional Officer I to maintain safety and security across the facility. You will interact with inmates, monitor access, and respond to incidents, ensuring orderly operations within a 24/7 environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, strong English communication, and ability to work under stress. Training and certifications will be provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Capability to read, write, and communicate in English clearly.
• Willingness to complete state training and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of CDOC facilities.
• Work directly with inmates in a locked facility and monitor access.
• Operate security devices, doors, alarms and state vehicles as needed.
• Conduct counts, searches, and log movement of inmates.
• Respond to emergencies and follow safety protocols.
