Job summary

Culpeper County Sheriff's Office is seeking a jail deputy responsible for maintaining order and safety within the detention facility. You will supervise inmates, assist with booking and security, and escort inmates to and from court and other areas while upholding jail policies and procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, passing the State Jail Officers Academy, and maintaining DCJS certification with firearms usage training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass State Jail Officers Academy and maintain DCJS certification.
• Firearms usage training and certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and safety of inmates and jail operations.
• Oversee booking/release, security, and inmate movement within the facility.
• Escort inmates inside and outside secure areas as needed.
• Provide instruction and act as FTO, firearms, and defense/tactics instructor.
