Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Corrections, Somerset SCI is seeking Corrections Food Service Instructors to train inmate workers in food preparation, service, and baking. • Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service in an institutional or large-scale operation.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

• Must pass background check and CJIS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach inmates proper methods for food preparation, production, service, and baking.
• Demonstrate safe and sanitary operation of tools, equipment, and cleaning procedures.
• Guide meal preparation according to recipes and maintain service standards.
• Review food service areas, equipment, and items for sanitation compliance.
• Requisition, receive, and store ingredients while maintaining FIFO procedures.
