Job summary

State of North Carolina - Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Case Manager (S) to provide comprehensive case management for an assigned offender caseload at a multi-custody male facility. Duties include classification reviews, program referrals, and regular motivational counseling, with crisis intervention support as needed.

The role requires effective communication with staff, offenders, and the public, and may involve duties in certified capacity as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be eligible for certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular classification reviews, needs assessments, plans, and program referrals for offenders.
• Provide transitional information and housing recommendations during offender review.
• Communicate effectively with staff, offenders, and the public.
• Work under stress and conduct crisis interventions including suicide prevention when needed.
• Prepare written reports reflecting data from interviews, documents and observations.
• Potentially serve in certified capacities as needed.
