Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: 18 years or older, high school education or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and must be able to legally possess a firearm and ammunition.
• Preferred qualifications: bilingual English/Spanish skills.
• Other: must pass pre-employment exams (medical, drug test) and complete Staff Training Academy NE Corrections Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inmates/offenders in a wide variety of situations and activities.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations governing inmate conduct.
• Document inmate/offender behavior, status and movement; maintain logs and counts.
• Operate and monitor security equipment and controlled movement of people and assets.
• Assist supervisory staff in max security areas and when applicable, possibly overseeing visiting areas.
• Transport or oversee transportation of inmates/offenders to community or other locations.
• Overtime, weekends, holidays, and double shifts may be required.
