Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age. High school education or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to legally possess a firearm and ammunition.
• Preferred bilingual English/Spanish skills.
• Must pass medical exam and drug test as part of pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inmates/offenders in a wide variety of situations and activities.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations governing conduct.
• Document inmate/offender behavior, status and movement.
• Search inmates'/offenders' person, quarters and work areas for contraband.
• Operate or monitor security equipment and maintain controlled movement of inmates/offenders, staff, and the public.
• Oversee inmate housing areas, sanitation, meals, and laundry inventory.
• Assist supervisory staff in maximum security areas and participate in training.
