Job summary

The State of Nebraska, Correctional Services - Agency 46 is seeking a Corrections Corporal for the WEC Detention Facility in McCook, NE. This role monitors inmates, enforces rules, documents behavior, and oversees security operations to maintain safe, orderly housing areas.

Minimum qualifications include 18+ years, high school education or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to legally possess a firearm. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor inmates/offenders and enforce facility rules.
• Document inmate/offender behavior, status and movements.
• Search inmates/offenders, their areas, and work spaces for contraband.
• Operate or monitor security equipment to control movement and safety.
• Oversee housing areas including sanitation, meals, laundry, supplies, and logs.
• May supervise visiting areas and oversee transportation out of the facility.
• Suggest improvements to security procedures when appropriate.
• Overtime, weekends, holidays, and double shifts may apply.
