Job summary

Seminole County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to support the John E. Polk Correctional Facility. The CNA will perform initial medical screenings, document findings, and assist medical staff in a high-autonomy environment.

Applicants must hold a Florida CNA/CMA license, have CPR/OSHA CEUs current, and be prepared for day/night shifts with rotating days off. Emphasis on ethical conduct and professional communication with inmates and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of responsible work experience.
• Florida CNA or CMA license required; phlebotomy coursework preferred.
• CPR, OSHA updates, and CEU certifications must be current.
• Internal applicants must complete a one-year probationary period.
• Valid Florida Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews and conducts initial medical screening of inmates.
• Prepares documentation on screening.
• Takes and records vital signs.
• Documents encounters in the electronic medical record using SOAPE format.
• May draw blood and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
• Logs use of medical supplies and maintains records.
• Prepares, maintains, and scans medical documents as needed.
• Assists other nurses or physicians as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
