Job summary

Alpharus Health is hiring a Clinical Support Technician in Polk City, FL to supervise client activities, deliver education, and help maintain treatment progress within a corrections-based program.

The role requires a HS diploma (or related degrees) with experience in the substance use field, strong communication, and de-escalation skills. Workdays are Monday to Friday, with potential residential shifts; eligibility for merit reviews is noted.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency with two (2) years of prior experience in the substance abuse field
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any unrelated area with one (1) year of experience in counseling or chemical addictions
• Bachelor's degree in social sciences from an accredited institution
• General knowledge of client population functioning and ability to interact and tailor interventions
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with treatment team and clients

Responsibilities

• Supervises clients’ activities, monitors movement, and reports observations or incidents
• Provides didactic sessions after internal training and may present education in chemical dependency and life skills
• Guides clients in complying with center rules and schedules; notifies staff of noncompliance
• Maintains client records including treatments, progress, and participation
• Contributes to treatment planning and coordination of client interactions
• Performs administrative duties (phone, messages, inquiries, filing, events)
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Work schedule: Monday–Friday 7:30 am–4:30 pm or residential shift 7:15 am–4:15 pm with 1-hour lunches
