Job summary

Maine Correctional Center in Windham, ME seeks qualified candidates for the Assistant Classification Officer role. This paraprofessional position manages the resident classification system, interviews incoming residents, and maintains computerized records to support housing levels and programs.

The role works under general supervision, with tasks including data entry, generating reports, and contributing to the Classification Committee.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in a correctional, detention, law enforcement, medical or institutional setting, or closely related field, which provided a knowledge of computerized management information system operations and requirements as it relates to managing client and/or patient information.

Responsibilities

• Interview incoming residents and gather identification data.
• Input data into the corrections master records system for case histories, housing levels and programs.
• Compile, calculate, and record time adjustments (extra good time, good time, lost time).
• Analyze court documents to verify correctness and extract required information.
• Prepare and distribute bi-monthly resident release sheets to institutions under jurisdiction.
