Job summary

The Maine Department of Corrections seeks a Management Analyst I to join the Data Team in Augusta. This professional services role analyzes corrections data, reviews programs, and supports continuous quality improvement to guide department leadership.

You will develop dashboards, compile reports, and recommend data-driven changes across adult programming, reentry, resident classification, and juvenile services. Strong analytical writing and knowledge of public administration are essential.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of education, training, and/or experience analyzing, evaluating, and/or developing improvements to organizational and/or managerial systems, programs, and practices.

Responsibilities

• Conducts management reviews of unit organization, operations, information flow, integrated production methods, and inventory control to identify work problems, program deficiencies, and resource waste.
• Develop & implement new systems, procedures, or organizational changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Installs new systems, trains agency staff, and conducts operational effectiveness reviews for smooth implementation.
• Develop and updates manuals to outline performance methods and organizational policies.
• Responds to daily data requests and questions regarding data entry and troubleshooting.
• Compiles and communicates monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
• Develops, updates and maintains data dashboards.
• Schedule and implement plans for data & CQI process rollout.
• Develop data resources for directors and managers.
• Design regular data reports.
• Determine appropriate data release for external stakeholders.
